With the release of Political Prisoner, author Paul Manafort seems to redeem himself in the public eye. Political Prisoner tells the real story of Paul’s life and career, exposing the lies about his work in Ukraine. It also talks about his previous work with foreign governments and business interests in other countries. And his involvement with the Trump campaign, and the “process crimes” for which he was wrongly convicted and sent to prison. According to Political Prisoner, it is no exaggeration to say that everything most Americans think they know about Paul Manafort is false.
About the Author
Paul John Manafort Jr. is an American lobbyist, political consultant, and attorney. A long-time Republican Party campaign consultant, he chaired the Trump presidential campaign from June to August 2016. Manafort served as an adviser to the U.S. presidential campaigns of Republicans Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, and Bob Dole.
Political Prisoner: The background story
Manafort often lobbied on behalf of foreign leaders such as former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, the former dictator of the Philippines Ferdinand Marcos, the former dictator of Zaire Mobutu Sese Seko, and Angolan guerrilla leader Jonas Savimbi.
Lobbying to serve the interests of foreign governments requires registration with the Justice Department under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA); on June 27, 2017, he retroactively registered as a foreign agent.
Manafort was convicted as part of the Special Counsel investigation. He was also found guilty on eight counts and pleaded guilty to counts of conspiracy. Manafort was later released from federal prison to serve the rest of his sentence under house arrest due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.
Criminal charges were pressed against him on five counts of tax fraud. Also two counts of bank fraud, and one count of failing to disclose a hidden foreign bank account, and two counts of conspiracy.
Manafort was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison but served less than two years as he was placed on house arrest due to the pandemic.
On the road to redemption
Political Prisoner describes the whole propaganda against Manafort as a ‘hoax that sent a presidential campaign chairman to solitary confinement because he wouldn’t turn against the President of the United States.”
The tome also enumerates the various weapons used by the government-corporate-media establishment against the Trump presidency.
“Time and again, allegations from anonymous sources were disseminated by a partisan media, promoted by a dishonest Democrat Party leadership, and ultimately debunked when the facts surfaced. But by the time the truth came out, it was too late. There had already been casualties.”
Political Prisoner touts Paul Manafort as the most high-profile casualty of this anti-Trump propaganda.
The publication also maps the evidence concerning all the politically motivated charges manufactured by the Special Counsel’s team for one reason only. To get Paul to testify against Donald Trump about a conspiracy that never existed.
Political Prisoner hopes to invoke in Americans wonder regarding what a lawfully wayward country they live in and what has become of their justice system.
